Mitchell Lipkin is an experienced personal injury trial lawyer with an emphasis in automobile, construction, medical malpractice, slip and fall, nursing home and workers compensation cases. Mr. Lipkin takes particular pride in representing those most in need of a lawyer- those unfamiliar with the legal community and with nowhere to turn; those whose injuries have caused a long period off work, and whose families are depending on them; those who have caught few breaks in life. Among the hundreds of clients Mr. Lipkin has successfully represented:
- a 41 year old Polish construction worker who fell from a scaffold suffering a brain injury, who was denied workers compensation benefits because it was claimed he was an independent contractor and not an employee. Following trial the client received payment for all of his medical bills, more than $250,000, plus full back pay (1 ½ years) and 50% permanent disability.
- A 36 year old woman, an admitted drug and alcohol addict, wandered about in the middle of a street, and was struck by a car, sustaining massive injuries. During the discovery process, Mr. Lipkin was able to prove that the driver of the vehicle saw his client at least a block before impact, but failed to slow down his vehicle or take evasive action. As a result, the insurance company paid 100% of its policy coverage to the client.
- A 79 year old woman attempted to exit an elevator in her condo, and tripped and fell because the elevator was not level with the floor, sustaining a severe fracture to her arm which required surgery. As a result of Mr. Lipkin’s investigation, he was able to prove that there had been longstanding problems with the elevator, which the owners failed to remedy, and the insurance company agreed to pay $200,000 in compensation.
Mr. Lipkin was born and raised in Chicago. He has been married for over 22 years to Linda, a nurse. They have 3 daughters.
